FAQ

Questions, answered.

The things travelers ask us most. Can't find yours? Reach us on the Contact page.

How does booking actually work?+

Pick a guide, choose a tour, a date, and your group size, and send a booking request — it takes about a minute. The guide then accepts or declines, usually within hours. Once they accept, you'll see their phone number on your Bookings page to arrange the meet-up. If a guide doesn't respond within 24 hours, the request expires automatically so you're never left hanging.

How do I pay? Do you take my card?+

No cards, no online payment — you pay your guide directly, in person, in cash (or however you two agree). The price you see on the tour listing is the price. Guído never touches your money during the pilot.

What if the guide doesn't reply to my request?+

Requests automatically expire after 24 hours if a guide doesn't answer, and nothing is charged (nothing is ever charged!). Just send a request to another guide — checking each guide's calendar before requesting helps you pick someone who's actually free.

What happens if it rains or the weather turns bad?+

Island weather happens! Since you haven't paid anything in advance, there's nothing to refund. Contact your guide directly (their number is on your booking once accepted) to reschedule or adjust the plan — most guides know exactly which spots still work in the rain.

How does pricing work for groups?+

Each tour listing shows its price and whether it's per person or per group, plus the maximum group size. When you book, the price breakdown updates based on how many people you bring — what you see at booking is what you agree to pay the guide.

What does the “Verified” badge mean?+

It means the Guído team has reviewed that guide's government ID and a matching selfie before their profile went live. Every guide on the platform has it — unverified guides simply don't appear.

Can I trust the reviews?+

Reviews can only be written by travelers whose booking was accepted and whose tour date has passed. Nobody can review a guide they never toured with — including the guide's friends (or rivals).

Do I need an account to book?+

Yes — a quick, free account (name, email, password) so your booking requests and confirmations have a home, and so guides know requests come from real people. You'll confirm your email once, and you're set.

How much does Guído cost?+

Nothing. It's completely free for both travelers and guides during our pilot.
